"In a decaying society, art, if it is truthful, must also reflect decay. And unless it wants to break faith with its social function, art must show the world as changeable. And help to change it."

COLOUR's DROPS
EXPERIMENT WITH MIXED TECHNIQUE: Photography and Watercolor.
"Colour's drops" has as its goal to tie to the land of Abruzzo its inhabitants (the subject of the pictures) and the earth understood as the soil. Powders, clays, gypsum's crystals, Sandstones of Abruzzo are contained in the pigments of "drops of color" skillfully welded to photographs through an open source program.

Autunno 2012... Vilnius... Lituania...
Assieme alla Fotografa francese Céline Payre do vita ad una docu-foto-istallazione...
Chi cammina per le vie di questa città retrò?
Chi osserva il barocco all'italiana degli stucchi lituani?
Come mai proprio Vilnius?

5/31 August: Art Exhibition "GHOSTS/spettri"
"Ghost- Spettri" is an exhibition of contemporary photography.
All the works have been carried out using virtual editing techniques.
Through a new symbolism, these works are meant to demonstrate the paranoid and serial nowadays human behaviors.
Components: virtual collage.
As in some works of the Swedish photographer Oskar Rejlander (born at the early 20th century), these works are a juxtaposition of images. In this case, an overlapping work was carried out using an open source computer program. The pictures depict three types of faces: self-portraits, strangers and contemporary personalities.
All the shots have been made with various digital cameras and they only show people's faces.
White eyes: to amplify the appearance of the contemporary human being behavior, the eyeballs have digitally erased from the subjects.
In many cultures, the eyes have always been considered representing human beings souls. The absence of this symbol creates a unique emotional impact on the perception of the subject, therefore the image is terribly altered.
Fractal: Fractals are natural geometric patterns. They are actually never-ending figures. Their geometric system is graphically comparable to gigantic spirals or chaotic structures. This symbol is used to define the paranoid side. All the fractals used have been created with "Apophisis" computer program. Apophisis allows you to create these patterns by performing calculations and geometrical drawings decided by the programmer.
A fractal is a rough or fragmented geometric shape that can be split into parts, each of which is approximately a reduced-size copy of the whole, a property called self-similarity. The idea of fractals dates back to the 17th century, while mathematically rigorous treatment of fractals can be traced back to functions studied by Karl Weierstrass, Georg Cantor and Felix Hausdorff a century later while studying functions that were continuous but not differentiable. However, the term fractal was coined by Benoît Mandelbrot in 1975 and derives from the Latin “fractus” - "broken" or "fractured."
A mathematical fractal is based on an equation that undergoes iteration, a form of feedback based on recursion. There are several examples of fractals, those who portray an exact self-similarity, a quasi self-similarity, or a statistical self-similarity. While fractals are a mathematical construct, we can find them in nature, which has led to their inclusion in artwork.
They are useful in medicine, soil mechanics, seismology, and technical analysis.
A fractal often has the following features:
• It has a fine structure at arbitrarily small scales.
• It is too irregular to be easily described in traditional Euclidean geometric language.
• It is self-similar (at least approximately or stochastically).
• It has a Hausdorff dimension which is greater than its topological dimension (although this
requirement is not met by space-filling curves such as the Hilbert curve).
• It has a simple and recursive definition.
Although they appear similar at any level of magnification, fractals are often considered to be infinitely complex (in informal terms).
Natural objects that are approximated by fractals at a certain level including clouds, mountain ranges, lightning bolts, coastlines, snowflakes, various vegetables (cauliflower and broccoli), and animal coloration patterns. However, not all self-similar objects are fractals—for example, the real line (a straight Euclidean line) is formally self-similar but fails to have other fractal characteristics; for instance, it is regular enough to be described in Euclidean terms.
Images of fractals can be created using fractal-generating software. Images produced by such a software are normally describe as fractals even if they do not have the characteristics mentioned above, such as when it is possible to zoom into a region of the fractal that does not exhibit any fractal properties. Moreover that may include calculation or displaying artifacts which are not characteristics of true fractals.
Smoking: Another symbol used is the cigarette smoke photographed and superimposed on the faces.
Cigarettes smoke is used as a symbol of mind emptiness and the futile concerns of mankind.
